My opinions on the things that piss me off.

Dear Justice System, Thank You. Dear Media, F#&* You.

First of all my condolences go out to Michael Schiavo, as well as Mary and Bob Schindler. I certainly hope your families can find some peace. Now then with that said, get out of the fucking limelight. Your private family conflict has nothing to do with the Supreme Court, Senate, or House. Your situation, no matter how hard it is, is not unique and is certainly no business of the president's. You have given the political machine another reason to dodge and misdirect and smile and bullshit. You are not that important. Do you really think your personal crusade of one has any impact on the rest of the nation? Does it have a lasting implication? Only in that you would have all local law and justice be determined by emotionalism and spite. Does it help anyone? Only you and vindictive family members all over the nation. Is it truthful? No, you didn't like who your daughter married. Happens every day. You should have noticed that mustache and mullet as a few early signs of trouble when he walked through the door for that first date. To the churches and governor, and bishops who appreared on television, radio, and through written statements to the press screaming murder, and how unnatural this was, and not God's plan, shame to you. God's plan included Terri dropping dead from heart failure. I think, since we are presuming we know God's plan, that if he planned for her to live he might not have stopped her heart. Science and medicine planned for her to live. Justice and sense decided that she was not alive. Her husband decided to let her body die. To everyone who got in front of a camera and made statements to the effect that Terri was fine, and Terri was responsive, and Terri was alert, and Terri wanted to live. You should be ashamed. Why would you embarrass this woman? For the sake of her family? Of course her parents are upset, they are parents. Instead of grabbing your fleeting few seconds of News At Six coverage you should have offered support to them in their time of need instead of feeding your ego. Let's look at the tape of Terri's last interview. . . . . . . . . . . How dare you stand up and speak to something you know nothing about save sensationalism. Speaking of sensationalism, would all you folks working in the entertainment, err news industry please give it a rest. Every time someone disagrees with someone else on a public topic it has polarized the nation. Yet somehow, despite all the splitting and rumbling, we have managed to not fall into total civil war. I guess we aren't that polarized. My best wishes to the families involved, and to the families of vegetative patients everywhere. Best wishes, and good luck.

Well, it's good that it starts a debate over life and death issues, bioethics and what not. I'm glad of that result, but now it seems we're on the next spectacle, so no time to really decide anything......
